Cape Coral is generally considered one of Florida's safer large cities. Most issues are property crime — car break-ins, unlocked boats and trailers.
Don't be there:
- · In canals or ponds, ever (gators, boat traffic, bacteria).
- · On the water or the beach when thunder starts.
- · Remote preserves at dusk or alone.
- · Cape Coral Pkwy at bar close (2–3am) behind the wheel.
- · Floodwater after a storm (contaminated, downed lines).
