Sanibel allows dogs on beaches on a leash only. Most other Lee County beaches don't allow dogs — use the Dog Beach at Bonita Beach Causeway.

  • Wagging Tails Dog Park (Rotary Park, Cape Coral) — the city's only dog park; register at the Rotary Park office, $20/dog/year.
  • Lee County dog parks — Barkingham, K-9 Corral, Paws 4 Duty, Pooch Park (Judd Park, N. Fort Myers), Woof-A-Hatchee, Wheeler Road and Dog Beach are free and fenced. Full list: leegov.com/parks/dog-parks.
  • Dog Beach (Bonita Beach Causeway) — off-leash beach, free parking, rinse station, no restrooms.
  • Jaycee Park (Cape Coral riverfront) — reopened April 2026 after renovation; dogs welcome leashed on the boardwalk, with dog drinking stations.
